All the Doctors at The Rame Group know how painful urgent dental conditions can be. However, our NHS bodies stress that GPs are not responsible for treating emergency dental services.
More than this, the General Medical council states; GPs should not manage conditions unless they have the appropriate skills and training. The vast majority of GPs have no dental training.
General dental practitioners have an ethical responsibility to provide urgent treatment including appropriate pain relief. So, we ask you to please use the appropriate service, to help us manage the workloads for those that need us the most.
